Two young men are now facing robbery charges, along with their alleged accomplices, after two people were beaten and their items were stolen in the Cross Roads area of St Andrew almost two weeks ago.

The two St Andrew men—19-year-old Jahmar Gayle and 21-year-old Norris James— have been charged with robbery with aggravation, conspiracy, and accessory after the fact. The two are from Spanish Town Road and Bones Road, respectively.

Reports from the Half-Way Tree police are that at about 4pm last Friday, June 16, two people were beaten and robbed on Melmac Avenue in Kingston 6. The police were told that the alleged robbers were travelling in a blue Honda fit motor car.

According to the police, a patrol team intercepted a blue Honda fit motor car along Beechwood Avenue, also in St Andrew, with five men aboard. The police said three of the men fit the description given by the complainants.

All five were taken into custody.

The first three charged in the matter—38-year-old Mario Simpson, otherwise called ‘Jawbone’, 27-year-old Lance English, otherwise called ‘Bredda Lane’, and 26-year-old Dandrea Cross, otherwise called ‘Day-Day’—were reportedly pointed out during an identification parade. They were charged on June 23 with robbery with aggravation.

Gayle and James were charged on June 26. Their court date is being finalised, the police said.
