Fire on Monday afternoon damaged a house on Montclair Drive in Beverley Hills, St Andrew.
Three units from the Jamaica Fire Brigade responded and have since brought the blaze under control.
According to one resident, the fire is reportedly due to the clearing of land by fire in the nearby Karachi community.
The resident, Sal Morrison, is calling on the authorities to clamp down on the practice.
