A man who was allegedly accused among a group of men who engaged the police in a shootout on Park Lane, Kingston on Monday, June 19 has been charged.
Charged with shooting with intent and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon is 21- 21-year-old Abijah Smith, otherwise called ‘Bijah’, of Park Lane, Kingston.
Reports from the Constant Spring Police are that at about midnight, a team was conducting a foot patrol in the area when they saw Smith and other men.
The men allegedly opened gunfire at the team and ran in different directions. Smith later hid inside a yard and was taken into custody. On Tuesday, June 27, following an interview, authorities charged him and he is now awaiting court arrangements.
