Man accused of shooting at cops found trying to hide in the yard
A man who was allegedly among a group of men who engaged the police in a shootout on Park Lane, Kingston on Monday, June 19 has been charged.
Charged with shooting with intent and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon is 21- year-old Abijah Smith, otherwise called ‘Bijah’, of Park Lane, Kingston.
Reports from the Constant Spring Police are that at about 12:00 am, a team was conducting a foot patrol in the area when they saw Smith and other men.
The men allegedly opened gunfire at the team and ran in different directions. Smith was later found hiding inside a yard. He was taken into custody. He was charged on Tuesday, June 27 following an interview and is awaiting arrangements for court.
