Forty-two-year-old Derval Thompson, known as ‘Indian’ or ‘Coolie,’ a businessman residing in Love Lane, Kingston, has been charged with Wounding with Intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition following an incident on Beeston Street, Kingston, on Sunday, June 18.

 

According to reports, Thompson allegedly approached and confronted an individual regarding a dispute involving another person. Allegedly brandishing a firearm, Thompson shot the complainant before fleeing the scene on foot.

 

Prompt response by the authorities resulted in the injured party being swiftly transported to a local hospital, where they received necessary medical attention and were admitted for further treatment.

 

On Sunday, June 25, the police arrested Thompson, and after an investigation, he was formally charged on Monday, July 3. The scheduling of his court appearance is currently being finalized.
